Cocoa & banana cream with raspberries

A little spoonable dessert. Ripe banana brings sweetness and silken tofu makes it smooth. After blending, the fridge takes over.

Why it works for children & what’s in it

Times are estimates for the base recipe. Larger quantities may take longer.

Step by step

Here’s how.

0 / 4
Keep it simple today.

Only four ingredients. Once it is blended, you have 30 minutes for something else while the cream firms up a little in the fridge.

What you can prepare ahead

Blend the cream the day before, cover and refrigerate immediately at 5 °C or below. Serve within 24 hours and prepare the fresh berries just before eating.

Got interrupted? Tick off each step as you finish, so you can find your place again here.

If there is room for it today

Helping is lovely. Watching is fine too.

Your child can mash the peeled banana with a fork and choose the berries later. An adult operates the blender.

It does not have to be a family cooking project. It is fine to do it yourself today.

Good things for your family table

Why it works for children.

Smooth and spoonable, with familiar banana flavour. Berries and cream can stay separate, and the cocoa amount can be reduced for a first taste.

About this nutrient

These notes refer to the ingredients in the base recipe. The amount on the plate depends on preparation, portion size and swaps. Variety across the week makes the difference.

Make it yours.

Soft, chopped strawberries work instead of raspberries. Heat frozen berries thoroughly following packet instructions and cool quickly; do not simply thaw and serve raw.

Feeling a little unsure?

Offer the berries separately. If cocoa is a new taste, use half the amount the first time.

Keeping leftovers

Cover and refrigerate immediately at 5 °C or below and eat within 24 hours. Add berries just before serving. Do not keep leftovers from used children’s bowls.

For younger eaters

Designed for family meals from age 3, not as a weaning recipe. Always adapt shape and texture to your child’s abilities. Cook hard pieces until soft or grate finely; cut up small round foods. Stay with your child while they eat. For known allergies, check ingredients and substitutions individually.
